COMES Procurement team cover the globally sourcing of raw materials from proven manufacturers and the logistics management of delivering materials and equipment on site.

3. Plate Cutting

COMES covers in house cutting of steel plates on 1 head Oxy gas & 1 head Plasma bevel machine.

4. Plate Bending

COMES operates a 3-roll plate bending machine, first class technology, standard thickness of steel plates is 140 mm, working width 3,100 mmm

5. Welding

In house, electric welding boom with 2 heads for tandem welding of steel components diameter up to 6,000 mm.

6. Mechanical Processing

COMES has a separate workshop for processing the sub-assemblies equipped with lathes

7. Post Weld Heat Treatment

in house, flame furnace with diesel burners, size inside: 17,500 x 6,250 x 6,250 mm.

Laboratories

Chemical analyzes and mechanical

tests are performed only by qualified, specially trained experts. Qualified teams consist of quality inspectors and certified NDT (non-destructive testing) engineers.

COMES NDT laboratory is designed to perform checks and measurements using non-destructive procedures for various parts in the production flow.

The following types of controls are performed in the

NDT laboratory

Control with penetrant liquids

in order to determine the external defects of rolled, forged, cast or welded structures; the materials used when performing the examination comply with ASME, ASTM and ISO and are supplied only from licensed manufacturers.

The NDT control is carried out in accordance with internal standards, in accordance with the requirements by the beneficiary. Quality assessment norms are in accordance with ASME, EN ISO.

Magnetic particle control

in order to determine the external defects of rolled, forged, cast or welded structures; the materials used when performing the examination comply with ASME, ASTM and ISO and are supplied only from licensed manufacturers.

The magnetic powders used are supplied by authorized manufacturers. Norms for quality assessment are in accordance with EN, ASME.

Ultrasonic Control

Ultrasonic defectoscopy is applied to ferrous materials, based on the reflected pulse control method, with a working frequency in the range from 2 to 5 MHz, for the following: rolled profiles and plates, forgings and castings, pipes, welds and corners, thickness measurement.

Mechanical laboratory

Tensile Test

at ambient temperature and high temperatures up to 800°C

Impact Test

with a Charpy pendulum and using the cryogenic chamber, allowing the test temperature of -60 °C; tests are performed according to ASTM and ISO standards.

Testing procedure in the

Chemical laboratory

Macrostructure, microstructure, hardness (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers)

test the chemical composition of metallic, ferrous and non-ferrous materials using an argon spark optical emission spectrometer.

Our activities in the field of destructive and non-destructive control services are carried out in our testing laboratories accredited by RENAR and authorized by CNCAN, ISCIR, with authorized inspectors by ISCIR, EN, ASME level 2.
